RI-Valley is a sovereign European research environment where nature, infrastructure and responsible technological research converge within one integrated system.

Château Research Hub – Péruwelz

 

Situated within a three-hectare historic park, the castle forms the central nervous system of RI-Valley.

The château dates back to 1895 and covers approximately 2,200 m². Built during the Belle Époque period, it reflects an era in which material selection, proportion, natural light and spatial flow were consciously and harmoniously designed. Natural materials, high ceilings and open circulation structures create acoustic calm and structural balance.

The original architecture embodies a time when material, proportion and harmony were fundamental design principles. This spatial coherence makes the estate particularly suited as a research environment where concentration, systemic thinking and natural integration are central.

Here, research, reflection and strategy come together in a living setting where technology is locally managed, executed and controlled.

Forest Research Hub – Keerbergen

 

The Keerbergen hub is located in a sandy forest region with a distinct historical background. The area was historically used for cultivating trees destined for the Limburg mining industry — timber selected for structural strength under extreme underground conditions.

This history gives the landscape a particular meaning: an environment shaped by growth, load-bearing capacity and subterranean infrastructure.

Today, the forest setting offers a quieter and more intimate context for reflection, strategic sessions and focused research periods.
